Timber species

Laminated beams are made from conifers that the company fells in Karelia, Vologda and Arkhangelsk regions.

The short growing season characteristic of northern latitudes makes the timber dense and strong, which are both great qualities for wood-frame construction. The company only uses legally sourced, high-quality and environmentally friendly timber in its production processes.

The main species of tree used in production is spruce.

Dimentions

Today, Segezha Group produces glued timber of 40 cross-section sizes. The beam is cut to length according to the customer's requirements. The maximum length of a single beam is 13.5 metres.

Quality of glued timber faces

Segezha Group produces glued timber of visual and industrial quality. These grades are characterised by their front surfaces quality.

The criteria are based on the as-delivered surface quality. Appropriate storage and assembly of timber after delivery shall be provided by the customer. Changes in the above criteria are possible due to climatic conditions as timber is a natural building material.

Cross-ection types

The beam is manufactured with 35, 40, 45 mm thick lamellas.
The lamella segments obtained after sorting and optimisation are glued onto a finger with water-resistant melamine glue. The glues have hygiene certificates and frost-resistance test certificates.
After jointing into 12/13.5 meter beams, the lamella segments are pressed together into semi-finished beams of appropriate section.
