Segezha Group Signs Agreement to Supply LNG-Grade Plywood to East Asia

On March 20, 2026, in Moscow, Kirill Arsentiev, President of Segezha Group PJSC, and the management of a partner company signed a cooperation agreement following the first contract to supply LNG-grade plywood (Segezha-LNG) for the fuel systems of seven super-eco-friendly container ships powered by liquefied natural gas. Shipments are set to begin this year.

Segezha-LNG tank-grade plywood falls into the premium product category. The material is used for cladding cryogenic tanks on gas carriers that transport liquefied natural gas, as well as on commercial marine vessels that use LNG as fuel. The plywood’s technical specifications enable it to withstand extreme pressure and ultra-low temperatures, minimizing LNG evaporation during transportation.

Segezha Group occupies a unique niche in the global market. Annual worldwide demand for LNG-grade plywood in shipbuilding is estimated in the tens of thousands of cubic meters. Segezha Group is one of the few manufacturers with the expertise required to enter this high-tech shipbuilding industry.

“This agreement opens up a strategically important market for us in high-tech shipbuilding in the most dynamic sector of this industry in a key global region. The approval of our LNG-grade plywood supplies following extensive testing and validation confirms global recognition of the quality of Segezha Group’s products and strengthens our export potential in the premium segment,” commented Kirill Arsentiev.
