Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill is one of the flagships of the pulp and paper industry built in 1939. 

The mill has undergone several cycles of modernisation and renovation so that now it can produce up to 384,000 tonnes of sack kraft paper, including high-strength microcreped paper. Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill is Russia's only manufacturer of unbleached high-porosity high-strength sack paper.

The mill's chemical timber processing shops also produce tall oil rosin, tall oil pitch, tall oil, distilled tall oil, fatty acids, and sulphate soap.

Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill exports its products to more than 70 countries around the world. The mill has enough capacity to be the world's third-largest manufacturer of sack paper.

History


Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill has been a subsidiary of Sistema's Segezha Group since 2014.

In 2018, Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill completed a three-year modernisation programme. After the launch of a new paper machine 11 in 2019, Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill achieved design capacity, producing 365,500 tonnes of high-quality paper. Investment in the modernisation exceeded RUB 14 billion.

In early 2019, the investment project to modernise Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill was included by the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation in the list of priority forest development projects.

In 2020, Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill plans to begin the modernisation and replacement of its waste treatment equipment with more modern and higher capacity units to significantly reduce the volume of harmful emissions into the atmosphere and improve the environmental situation in Segezha. A total of about RUB 1 billion is to be invested in the project.
