LOGGING — REPUBLIC OF KARELIA


The largest timber harvesting company in Karelia, annually harvesting 1.4 million cubic metres of timber per year. 

Core operations: logging, construction and maintenance of year-round roads (over 1,000 km per year), forest care and reforestation in the forest plots of Segezha Sawmills and Medvezhyegorsky Forest Harvesting Company, transportation and rafting of raw lumber to points of consumption. 

Logging is performed using the cut-to-length process on John Deere and Caterpillar harvesters.

The business unit manages the following timber harvesting companies: the forest resources branch of Segezha Sawmills, Lendersky Forest Harvesting Company.

The estimated logging volume is 1.6 million cubic metres (in an area of 2,866,000 hectares), the intermediate felling is 272,000 cubic metres. 

The company has 8 production sites. 

Up to 68% of the output is shipped to other companies of the group.
