Lesosibirskiy LDK No 1 JSC is one of Russia's largest producers of sawn timber and fibreboard. The production facility is located in the town of Lesosibirsk in Krasnoyarsk Krai. The facility's total estimated logging volume is 3.1 million cubic metres per year while it has a round timber sawing capacity of 1.5 million cubic metres per year.
Lesosibirskiy LDK No 1 operates several timber-harvesting companies, several sawmills as well as facilities for the production and finishing of fibreboards. In addition, the company also produces heat. All sawn timber is produced from high-quality trees harvested in an environmentally friendly manner. The group harvests its own timber so it can easily ensure high quality of raw materials, while the high level of diversification allows the company to flexibly reroute product flows depending on the current challenges and opportunities.
Lesosibirskiy LDK No 1 makes wet-processed fibreboard using the hot pressing of wood fibres and phenol-formaldehyde resin as the adhesive. Segezha Group has a highly diversified industrial client base, which allows it to avoid seasonal variation in its sales, as typically seen in industries that utilise fibreboard.
The production site has been in operation since 1969, and the countries to which it ships its products include the UK, France, Italy, Spain, Germany, Egypt, and Belgium. It is the biggest employer in Lesosibirsk, employing a total of 3,600 people locally.
In 2016, Lesosibirskiy LDK No.1 was acquired by Sistema's Segezha Group.
Another company that operates on the same industrial site is KsyloTech-Siberia LLC. December 2018 saw the launch of a new production line for making fuel pellets at Lesosibirskiy LDK No.1's industrial site with an annual production capacity of 70,000 tonnes of finished products per year.
April 2020 saw the launch of the second stage of the fuel pellet production facility in Lesosibirsk, which increased the company's total pellet production capacity to 110,500 tonnes of pellets per year.
