Giprobum is a design institute that has kept its name, trademark, traditions, and qualification potential for more than 90 years. Giprobum's main task is to develop comprehensive project documentation for the pulp and paper industry in the field of industrial construction. The design office is equipped with all modern design tools, including licensed software and 3D scanning equipment. Giprobum has considerable experience in developing projects related to the reconstruction and conversion of production in the context of existing industrial plants.
Giprobum Design Institute was founded in 1929 as an institute for planning pulp and paper production facilities on the basis of Order No. 922 of the Supreme Soviet of National Economy of the RSFSR dated 02.07.1929. Over 80% of all pulp and paper enterprises of the USSR were constructed during the period of Giprobum Design Institute's activity: Segezha pulp and paper mill, Sokol pulp and paper mill, Kotlas, Krasnoyarsk, Bratsk pulp and paper mills, Syktyvkar pulp and paper mill, Ust-Ilimsk pulp and paper mill, as well as a number of large enterprises in China, Bulgaria, Slovakia, Romania, etc. Today, Giprobum is one of the leaders in the Russian market for designing facilities for the pulp and paper industry. Giprobum has been part of the Segezha Group since January 2020.
