Each of Segezha Group’s eight sawmills specialises in its own unique timber base and has its own approach to sorting finished products, shipping methods and export destinations.

The production sites located in the north-west specialise in the production of sawn timber from spruce and pine. Lesosibirsky LDK No. 1, located in Krasnoyarsk Krai, produces sawn timber from Angara pine, spruce, fir and Siberian larch.

Product quality

For sawmills located in the north-west of Russia, technical specifications are based on Nordic Timber sorting rules. At Lesosibirsky LDK No. 1, two federal standards are used as sorting rules: GOST 26002-83 for exports and GOST 8486-86 for the domestic market.

Segezha Group dries its sawn timber in specialised drying chambers. As a result, the bulk of the Company’s product achieve a shipping moisture content of 20% (+/-2%).

Compliance with international certification systems

In the production of sawn timber, only legally harvested, high-quality and environmentally friendly wood is used. Segezha Group is a responsible leaseholder that increases the area reforested every year.

Dimentions

Segezha Group’s timber products come in a wide range of lengths (from 2.7 m to 6.0 m at increments of 0.3 m) and cross sections (height from 16 mm to 75 mm, width from 75 mm to 225 mm).

Own timber supply

Segezha Group meets up to 80% of its needs for raw wood for the production of sawn timber through its own logging operations in the Arkhangelsk and Vologda regions, the Republic of Karelia and Krasnoyarsk Krai.

Thanks to our own harvesting, we can guarantee the necessary volume and consistently high quality of our raw material base.

Sawmills and logistics

Segezha Group has seven sawmills located in five regions of the country. The total production capacity for commercial sawn timber exceeds 1.2 million cubic metres per year. Products are exported to more than 30 countries around the world.

Production of planed components and mouldings: floorboards, decking, wall panelling, cut-to-size furniture parts for the production of laminated woodwork

Construction

Sawn timber is used as a building material, including with a guaranteed strength index for the manufacture of parts for load-bearing structures and formwork

Packaging

The containers and packaging segment uses, as a rule, low-grade sawn timber for the production of a variety of packaging materials: pallets, crates, etc.
