Segezha Group’s Investment Projects Noted at Meeting in Ministry of Trade and Industry as Important for Development of the Industry

An expanded general meeting of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation took place on Krasnopresnenskaya Naberezhnaya in the Government House of the Russian Federation. The meeting was attended by Nikolay Ivanov, Director for GR at Segezha Group (part of Sistema JSFC). The annual report of the Ministry of Trade and Industry of the Russian Federation, entitled “On Main Results of Activities in 2018 and Goals and Tasks for 2019” the authors of the report mentioned two projects implemented by Segezha Group of forestry enterprises, and a project to build a pulp-and-paper mill in Siberia. 
The noted projects include the launch of new production facilities of the group at LLC Vyatka Plywood Plant (Kirov Region), which produces 100,000 cubic meters of premium plywood a year, with the amount of investments at RUB 6.7 billion, and the launch of a pellet-making plant at Lesosibirsky LDK No. 1 (Krasnoyarsk Krai). Its output capacity is 70,000 tons of products and the volume of investments is RUB 817 million. The list of projects planned for implementation, as described in the section of the report on support of construction of large pulp-and-paper mills includes a promising new investment project of Segezha Group to build a biotechnology complex that will produce +900 thousand tons of pulp a year. The volume of planned investments into the project exceeds RUB 90 billion.
In his report at the meeting of the Ministry of Trade and Industry, Minister Denis Manturov spoke specifically about the problem of environmental safety of industrial enterprises. “When it comes to decreasing the environmental load generated by various enterprises, we have already developed a mechanism for transfer to the best available technologies in cooperation with the Ministry of Natural Resources,” the Minister said. During the meeting Denis Manturov also noted that innovative solutions and a transfer to a new technological level require reconsidering the regulatory document database: the Ministry will review almost 500 normative documents. 
In implementing its projects Segezha Group ties construction and environmental requirements to best available technologies, and this has foremost importance for the company.
