Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill

Segezha Pulp and Paper Mill, one of the flagships of the pulp and paper industry, was built in 1939.

The mill has passed several cycles of modernization and reconstruction, as a result of which it is now able to produce up to 310.5 thousand tons of unbleached sulphate pulp by cooking, 265 thousand tons of kraft paper sack, including high-strength microcreped paper.

The wood-chemical production of the mill also includes tall rosin, tallow pitch, tall oil, distilled tall oil, fatty acids and sulphate soap.

The products of the Segezha PPM are exported to 43 countries. The mill's capacities allow it to occupy the fourth place in the world in the sack paper production.

Since 2015, Segezha PPM JSC has been a part of Segezha Group Sistema JSFC Corporation. The implementation of the investment modernization project has been started the same year.

The project is designed until 2018 and provides for the pulp mill modernization, commissioning of new PM No 11 produced by Voith and construction of a new boiler plant on biomass for the production of steam for the technological processes of the mill.

Thanks to the investment project, the production of sack paper at Segezha PPM will grow by 40%, and by 2020 about 60% of sack paper will be supplied to the Group's own converting facilities. The rest will be sold on the external market.

To date, Segezha PPM employs about two thousand of the Segezha residents.
